Benthic Filmworks

ABOUT US

Benthic Filmworks is an independent film and art collective, founded by Ben Kirbos and based in Sydney, Australia.
Established in 2021, and formerly known as BKRB, it saw the release of the original analog horror short film, MEAT PRODUCT: LIFE MEAT.
Released on January 25th 2022. Which ended up amassing a large cult-following shortly after its release on YouTube.

BKRB rebranded on December 6th, 2025 to Benthic Filmworks. Recognising the need for a new name and brand
that better reflected the concept of an independent creative collective. The deep-sea theme for the name and branding was inspired
by the opening shot of James Cameron's Titanic. Particularly, the shot where a porcelain doll's head is seen
somewhat buried, within the remains of the deep sea shipwreck.
